How does Iridium GO work?
TheIridium GO connects to the Iridium network, which can be accessed to connect anywhere in the world, including the North and South Poles. Once positioned outside and the antenna deployed, the Iridium GO will start working. It creates a wifi network that you connect to from your smartphone or tablet (iOS Android).
Ensure that the battery charge is maintained so that the device is ready for use when needed. Ensure the antenna is pointing upwards with a clear view of the sky. Ensure that your phone is within a range of approximately 30 metres of the WiFi network, and is in aeroplane mode.
You can connect up to 5 different systems at once. Once this is done, you can send emails, communicate by voice and send text messages. You will also be able to update your Facebook account or access weather files and information. A whole range of voice and data services are linked to the Iridium GO and will be indispensable when you travel.
