Sail For Water

Nicolas, Romain and Thomas, 3 first cousins with a passion for the Ocean, linked by the same spirit of adventure and driven by the desire to change the world, created the NGO Sail for Water in April 2014.

Sail for Water Team and Plan

Recognised as being in the general interest, Sail for Water is launching a pioneering project: To associate the defence of a fundamental human right with an extraordinary sporting challenge, to promote universal access to drinking water during a round-the-world sailing race!

Sail for Water's ambition is threefold:

  • Bringing drinking water to all those who need it thanks to an ultra efficient and economical filter;
  • To allow everyone to get personally involved and participate in the project;
  • Raising awareness among as many people as possible, especially the youngest.

The mission: to distribute 1,000 filters in 1,000 days to help more than 100,000 people around the world.

Filter distribution mission in Cape Verde

Our adventurers joined Cape Verde for their first mission of filter distribution. (27 November 2015)

On the small island of Maio, a neglected island in the Cape Verde archipelago, they distributed 50 filters, equipped the island's hospital as well as all the health centres.
After travelling the island from one end of the island to the other, they also equipped all the classrooms of all primary and nursery schools.
